Hot Ham and Cheese, Please

November 6th, 2009 by Fiddledeedee

SaturdayStirrings

With the holidays fast approaching, I thought I’d spice up Saturday Stirrings with some of my favorite entertaining recipes.

  • Super sized bag of chips.
  • Vat of Salsa.
  • Industrial sized bottle of Pepto Bismol.

And there you have it. Oh, I kid.

The following recipe COULD NOT BE EASIER. Which is perhaps the #1 criteria that I use when planning party fare. I got it from a gal I went to MOPS with years ago. I wish I could give her credit, but I don’t remember who it was. Those were the years when I had 3 children aged nursing through Kindergarten. I didn’t remember my own name, much less someone else’s.

Hot Ham & Cheese

8 oz Cream Cheese (can go low fat, but really, what’s the point?)
4-5 Slices Ham, Chopped
1 Cup Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
Dash of Garlic Salt (optional)

Mix all together (I use those handy disposable gloves so that I can become one with my creation) and transfer to a pie plate or other small serving dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, till golden and bubbly.

Serve with fancy schmancy (a culinary term) crackers.

I’m tacking Mr. Linky on this week, because I suspect you all may have a recipe (holiday perhaps?) to share. So, if you’ve posted a recipe on your blog, link that particular post on the space provided by Mr. Linky.

And as always, be polite and link back here from your blog post. And you can always leave your recipe in the comments section of this post.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Haha… I’ve been waiting this week for hub’s paycheck for grocery money and finally got it today. I just might have to break down and consider this a “pre-labor snack” this week :) Enjoy – it’s an easy but goodie.

My link didn’t work. Please delete it. I can’t figure out how to do it. Maybe I will try again.

    1pkg (2c) shredded cheddar cheese
    1pkg (8oz) real bacon bits
    1/3 cup green onion chopped
Mixed together and serve with plain Ruffles!
