Saturday Stirrings: Leavin’ It All Up to You
April 5th, 2008 by Fiddledeedee
I had every intention of posting a real recipe for Saturday Stirrings. Until we went out for dinner Friday night. I remarked to Fiddledaddy that I was craving Mexican food, particularly the chips and salsa portion of the dining experience.
Always one to keep the little woman happy, he suggested that we go out to Chilis for dinner. As far as Mexican food goes, Chilis is just barely a step above Taco Bell. And a stones throw from the emergency room. But, here in Armpit, Florida, our choices are few.
Especially since my very favorite Mexican restaurant burned to the ground a few months ago. May it rest in peace. I’m still in mourning for the Raspberry Margaritas. Oh, the unfairness of it all. Sob. Sob. Sob.
And I’m from the south Texas area, so I know my way around a burrito. And a Margarita. Just so you know.
However, I sit here full of chips, salsa, and chicken fajita wannabes, and can hardly think about cooking. Or eating. Or wearing anything except my stretchypants for the next several days. While sipping my Maalox.
In other words, I’m thoroughly disgusted with myself.
I’m now turning it over to y’all. I must say, that I have been really impressed with the recipes that you link from here. And I’ve been busy cutting, pasting, saving, trying and filing them. So, thank you for all your input! After I recover from the mock guacamole, I’ll be swinging by to take copious cooking notes.
You know what to do. Add your name, with recipe in parenthesis, to Mr. Linky. If you need more Saturday Stirrings information, click here.
Buenos nachos.

It’s only 9:30am, but the words “Raspberry Marguarita” are ringing in my head. Where can I find one of those, I wonder?

Sorry about the mock-amole. Want some coffee cake? Don’t if that’ll help, but we can always test that theory!

I can definitely relate to the mexican wannabes. My hubby doesn’t have nearly as refined a taste as I do. His favorite restaurant is a buffet. Mine is the 5 stars. We often go to places somewhere in between, which is pretty good food, in general. I don’t care for fast food mexican, but there are several decent mexican restaurants nearby, thankfully.
I wanted to let you know, just in case you aren’t aware, that your page has been really slow loading since I tried it last night, especially when I wanted to leave a comment. It was taking so long I gave up to try again today. I actually left the computer and did some things waiting to leave a comment. If you get less comments than usual on this meme, that might be why. Any other sites I try are coming up quick like usual, so I think it might be something at your end.
Blessings,
Farrah

I was going through some old cookbooks today and I found a recipe I’d forgotten about but I used to make all the time! So I posted it. Am I ever glad I found it! It’s really easy, and I don’t have a lot of time to cook this week.
Have a good one!
