A Winner, And a Shameless Plea For Votes
December 4th, 2007 by FiddledeedeeFirst of all, y’all have given me some wonderful ideas for teaching a class in Manners at our co-op. And your “my child was raised by wolves” stories had me spewing coffee right out of my nose. Which is really impolite. Now that I think about it. And somehow, I feel a little better about the behavior of my offspring. Thank you.

Voting began on Monday for the annual Homeschool Blog Awards. It Coulda’ Been Worse was nominated for Funniest Homeschool Blog and Best Nitty Gritty Homeschool Blog.
I have a couple of thoughts on this. As far as Funniest Homeschool Blog, I know it took at least 3 nominations to be in the category. With this nomination comes mixed feelings. On the one hand, I find it comforting that at least 3 of y’all share my warped sense of humor. However, I also find it alarming that at least 3 of y’all share my warped sense of humor.
I’m sure you’ve discovered that therapy is useless.
The nomination for Best Nitty Gritty Homeschool blog, as far as I can tell, may have something to do with the fact that I often dedicate entire posts to delicate subjects such as vomit, poop, pimples, and my menses. Throw in the fact that I spend all day with my children because I homeschool them, and you have a recipe for a long overdue vacation at the state facility. But an award would be nicer.
Anyhoo.
I’m pleased as punch to be nominated. And I’ve had a couple of people ask (people related to me) and no, you don’t have to be a homeschooler to vote. Go here to vote in the Funniest Homeschool Blog category, and go here to vote for the Best Nitty Gritty Homeschool blog category. Voting ends December 15th.
And you can only vote once per category. If you were to vote in the same category more than once (they know this by IP address), your votes would be disqualified. Not that anyone I know would do that. Just sayin’.

And now in other news, WE HAVE A WINNER FOR MY VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY! I apologize for my lateness in posting this, but we had no internet or cable service in the house of Fiddle ALL day Monday, and part of today. The twitching has just now subsided.
I used Random Number Generator, and the winner of Marybeth Whalen’s e-Book, A Recipe For Christmas Joy is commenter #28, Jana.
Congratulations! And for everyone who didn’t win, head over to Marybeth’s and order your own e-Book. You will love her enthusiasm for the joy of Christmas, and the practical timesaving ideas that she imparts. And the RECIPES!

Oh, yeah. Had to vote for you. Although I think I’ll have to wait to come back after I recover from my illness. It HURTS when I cough from laughing so much.
