Bloggoversary

July 23rd, 2007 by Fiddledeedee

This week marks my blog’s one year anniversary.  I’m not sure which actual day it was, because I inadvertently deleted my first post during my latest blog makeover, but I think it was July 23rdish.

Spell check just has a field day with me when I remember to use it.

I started blogging mostly because I wanted to journal about the antics of my children.  So I could have a record and hold it over their collective heads someday.  “Do you see WHY mommy is crazy?”  And also so that when they are in therapy, they can get the facts straight.

Just kidding.  Sort of.

One year ago. I made the decision to post once weekly.  Well, that lasted about a week.  Then it became twice weekly.  That lasted another week.  Before I knew it I was a full blown blogging addict posting five times a week, taking weekends off.

Usually I write a post at night, set it for auto-post, and go to bed.  But not last night.  The only thing I had on my mind was a warm wash cloth.  I may have gotten a hold of some bad lettuce.  Green and wilted described more than the lettuce.  ‘Nuff said.

And I felt guilty.  Not for eating the lettuce, but for not posting something last night.  I’ve brought it on myself.  Because I’m an over achiever.

Our homeschool year is going to be much more demanding of my time, and that’s the way it should be.  So, I may not post every single day.  And I’m sure my twitching will stop eventually.

And I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this last year.  I have “met” some absolutely amazing women through this blog.  I am blessed by you and your wonderful comments.  Currently, I have 956 e-mails in my box.  Mostly comments from the last month.  Why?  Because it is my intention to either answer each one personally or leave a comment on your blog.

I’m insane.

Do you see what I mean about this overachieving business?

Anyhoo, thank you again for this last year.  And I look forward to many more.

Well, very happy bloggoversary to you fiddledeedee! (you should see what spell check thinks of that sentence)

I suggest that this next school year you just make the decision to sleep a lot less and give your bloggy fans even more time. Yes, that sounds much better than your idea.

  4. Antique Mommy Says:

    Dear Overachiever,

Don’t post something fabulous everyday and don’t respond to every email.

Or else you just make the rest of us feel bad.

So do us all a favor and become a slacker!!

I’m surprised you’re only a year old…you’re such a pro I figured you’d been blogging since blogging began. You’re brilliant and hilarious and I wish you’d post every single day.

Just kidding. :) Don’t do it.

The year my kids were 8,6,5,4 was my toughest year of my homeschooling; similar to where you’ll be this year. So take a break from all you can in order to be filled up for those amazing kids!

  15. Joanna Says:

I big puffy heart your blog. I’m already starting to twitch. I should probably start a support group or something. Just don’t disappear!! There have been two blogs that have up and shut it down that I’m still trying to recover from.
